About this expansion
Clockwork Wars: Sentience is an expansion for 2–5 players, with a listed play time of 90 minutes. Released in 2015, it expands the epic struggle of conquest, discovery, and espionage in Clockwork Wars.
The expansion introduces a wealth of new content for the ongoing civil war between the Purebreeds, Mongrels, Troglodytes, and Rhinochs. New Discovery and Espionage cards add to the available card sets, while a new Court and additional hexagonal tiles support even larger and more varied maps.
- A new Court
- New Discovery and Espionage cards
- Additional hexagonal map tiles
- Two new Territory types: the Observatory and Nexus
- A fifth race: the Inventions
The Observatory and Nexus bring new places into the conflict. Scientists and priests have built magnificent observatories to study the heavens, while technowizards seek to harness the magical energy found deep beneath the earth in the newly discovered Nexus.
Most significantly, Sentience introduces the Inventions, autonomous thinking machines that have rapidly multiplied through their ability to build new Inventions in magical workshops. They commonly take the forms of insects, spiders, and beetles, and possess a profound love of the natural world.
The Inventions are young and naively aware of their immense potential, yet they understand the need to defend themselves during this age of war. With its new race and expanded map possibilities, Clockwork Wars: Sentience allows the conflict to extend to five players.
