About this expansion

Combat Commander: Battle Pack #3 – Normandy is a two-player expansion for Combat Commander: Europe and Combat Commander: Mediterranean, with games lasting about 150 minutes. It presents seventeen scenarios set on the Western Front during June, July, and August 1944, including a multi-scenario campaign game.

Players recreate actions involving British, American, Canadian, French, Scottish, Polish, and German forces across the Normandy landings and the battles that followed. The eight maps depict locations including Pegasus Bridge, Pointe du Hoc, Omaha Beach, Sword Beach, Crisbecq, La Madeleine, and other battlefields around Caen, Saint-Lô, Mortain, and Maczuga Hill.

The pack adds rules for the distinctive challenges of invasion beaches and inland bocage. Invasion Terrain includes beaches, shingle, water barriers, communication trenches, and hedgehogs, while other additions cover rural roads and bocage, limited smoke barrages, mortar spotters, bunker busting, and night operations.

  • Four double-sided, full-color maps and nine double-sided scenario cards
  • 176 die-cut counters and a 12-page color Play Book
  • Special rules for Widerstandsnests, casemates, coastal batteries, cliff scaling, commando movement, and air superiority
  • A majority of the leader counters represent historical individuals who fought in the depicted actions

Scenarios range from the planned and actual assaults at Pointe du Hoc to fighting at Omaha Beach, Sword Beach, Authie, Cheux, Mortain, and Caen. The eight-day 29, Let’s Go! campaign follows the 116th Regiment of the 29th Infantry Division’s assault on Saint-Lô, challenging players to reach La Madeleine by 15 July.

Combat Commander: Battle Pack #3 – Normandy is not a complete game and requires both Combat Commander: Europe and Combat Commander: Mediterranean. Seven scenarios and the campaign can be played without owning Combat Commander: Mediterranean.
