About this expansion

Combat Commander: Battle Pack #5 – Fall of the West is a two-player scenario collection for the Combat Commander series, with an approximate play time of 150 minutes. It requires both Combat Commander: Europe and Combat Commander: Mediterranean to play.

This battle pack presents twelve actions from late April through June 1940, set across France, Belgium, and Norway. The scenarios examine critical moments in which Allied and German forces tested one another, from daring glider landings and determined counterattacks to rearguard actions, armored assaults, and river-line fighting.

  • 12 new scenarios printed on cardstock
  • 10 new maps depicting verified locations and named terrain features
  • Experimental AFV rules in four scenarios featuring tanks against infantry

The scenario special rules are designed to give the Allied Minor hand greater flexibility, reflecting situations in which reduced interference from higher echelons allowed local forces to respond more effectively. The experimental armored vehicle rules explore an early stage of tank warfare, where doctrine, armament, and countermeasures were still developing.

Locations include Fort Eben Emael, Maastricht, the Dyle River, Cassel, the Gudbrandsdal Valley, Monthermé, Sedan, Gembloux, Château-Porcien, and Perthes. Featured vehicles include the Bren Carrier, FCM 36, PzKfw III, and Char B1bis, while the scenarios range from the opening of the Fall of the West on 10 May 1940 to later battles in June.

Designed by John A. Foley and Bryan Collars, and developed by Bryan Collars, Fall of the West adds a focused collection of early World War II engagements to the Combat Commander system.
