Darwin’s Journey: Oceania

About this expansion

Darwin’s Journey: Oceania is a 1–4 player board game with an approximately 120-minute play time, taking Charles Darwin into the Pacific islands in search of remarkable discoveries.

Players explore a freshly designed island map inspired by Oceania, encountering sixteen unique specimens as they investigate untamed landscapes and uncharted territory. The journey captures both the wonder of natural discovery and the setbacks created by harsh environments and unpredictable conditions.

This experience introduces reimagined player boards with distinct bonuses, alongside a revamped main board filled with new locations and features. Together, these additions create a fresh setting for exploration and discovery.

• Post Office, University, and Village Campsites
• Silver Villages, Golden Villages, and Map Lens Locations

The new Hazard Track adds a risk-versus-reward challenge to the journey. As players accumulate hazards, they may face end-of-round penalties alongside everyone else affected by them.

Yet danger can also create opportunity. The player with the highest hazard level receives a one-time bonus that can be used strategically during the game, making the decision to push further into difficult territory especially meaningful.

With its Oceania setting, redesigned boards, varied locations, and hazard system, Darwin’s Journey: Oceania presents a journey shaped by curiosity, interconnected life, and the uncertain demands of exploration. The game is scheduled for release in 2026.
