About this expansion

Dominations: Hegemon is an expansion for Dominations that adds new mechanics for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 120 minutes. It introduces Hegemony tiles and Omen cards, bringing fresh ways to shape the game’s objectives.

Hegemony tiles replace the ordinary Objective cards. Instead of drawing a personal objective at the start of the game, all players work to satisfy the demands of the Hegemon. Three Hegemony tiles are drawn, each presenting criteria based on Cities, Knowledge cards, and the colours of Nodus.

Players then compete for dominance over the objectives shown on the tiles. At the end of the Age, the player with the highest number in each of the five criteria receives additional victory points. If players are tied, nobody receives those points—the Hegemon rewards only the best.

  • Three shared Hegemony tiles establish the current demands.
  • Objectives can focus on Cities, Knowledge cards, and Nodus colours.
  • The leading player in each criterion earns additional victory points.
  • Ties provide no points for that objective.

The Hegemon’s demands can change as the game progresses. At the start of each new Age, a new Hegemon comes to power, the old tiles are shuffled back into their piles, and three new tiles are drawn.

Two objectives remain constant from Age to Age: the number of Monument levels in your possession and your Influence score. Other demands may stay partly familiar or change completely, requiring players to respond to the new priorities. With its evolving shared objectives and the addition of Omen cards, Dominations: Hegemon offers a changing challenge throughout the game.
