Drakon Expansion 1

About this expansion

Drakon Expansion 1 is an expansion for 2–6 players that adds 48 new tiles and a pawn representing the Drakon to the base game, with play lasting about 30 minutes.

The new tiles introduce additional movement rules, special effects, and ways to change the dungeon. Secret Passages let heroes move between matching passages as if they were adjacent, while the Escape passage moves your hero to it immediately after you lay it down.

• Drakon’s Bargain: Buy a tile from the board and add it to your hand.
• Base Structure: Tiles attached to it cannot be altered.
• Small Chamber: Blocks movement when occupied.
• Void: Miss your next turn, then reappear anywhere on the board on the following turn.
• Tornado: Requires you to move four chambers on your next move.
• Summon Drakon: Place the Drakon token on an empty chamber; subsequent landings allow it to move up to three chambers.

The Drakon adds a direct threat to the dungeon. When the Drakon sends heroes back to the start, they lose one gold. Together with the new tile functions, this creates more unusual routes and hazards during play.

The expansion is designed to combine with the second printing of Drakon, identified by the green dragon on the cover. It can also be used with the first printing, which has a red dragon, although the tile backs show different pictures and the newer tiles are slightly thicker.

Drakon Expansion 1 does not work with the third edition, whose tiles are larger at 2.5 by 2.5 inches. The third edition already includes some of these expansion tiles.
