About this board game

Exodus: Proxima Centauri is a 4X empire-building game for 2–6 players, with a playing time of about 180 minutes.

After a devastating nuclear war, six human factions seek shelter in the Centauri system. The humans are saved from extinction by a superior civilization, allegedly the Centaurians, and each faction receives a fresh start on a new planet. When the Centaurians announce their departure, the struggle for power begins again.

In Exodus: Proxima Centauri, players strive to build a new human empire on the ashes of the Centaurian civilization. Each faction develops a customized space fleet, expands across the system, and competes for dominance through exploration, diplomacy, technology, resource management, and warfare.

  • Build and customize a space fleet.
  • Conquer new planets and manage resources.
  • Fight the Centaurian Resistance and rival players.
  • Negotiate and vote on political laws and resolutions.
  • Research Centaurian technologies and develop an evolving engine.

The game combines a technology tree with blind bidding on political decisions, allowing players to compete over the laws and resolutions that shape the emerging empire. Hidden movement and logistics add further layers to fleet operations and strategic planning.

Combat is a major part of the experience, and Exodus strongly encourages and rewards conflict against both non-player opponents and other players. Fleets and weapons of mass destruction can decide the fate of planets and factions as humanity’s new order takes shape.
