About this expansion

Flash Point: Fire Rescue – Fire Prevention Specialist is a character addition for 2–6 players, with games lasting about 45 minutes. Released in 2014, this specialist comes from the Honor and Duty expansion and represents the lasting value of careful fire-prevention planning.

The Fire Prevention Officer has already convinced builders and homeowners to install smoke detectors, smoke exhausts, and clearly marked emergency exits. During the rescue, those preparations become powerful tools: people can follow designated escape routes, while smoke is directed out of the building.

  • Prevent/De-Smoke: Move a smoke token anywhere on the board for 1 AP per space, following the shortest route toward the nearest exterior door.
  • Prevent/Escape: Move a POI token showing its “?” side for 2 AP per space along the shortest marked route to the nearest exterior door.

Smoke passes through closed interior doors without extra cost and disappears when it leaves the building. However, moved smoke ignites if it ends adjacent to fire, and smoke placed on another smoke token becomes fire.

POIs may open doors along their route for 2 AP, but they do not use breached walls, ladders, or other unmarked alternatives. They will not move into fire, and any POI moved outside the building is revealed. If multiple routes are equally short, the player chooses between them.

On multi-floor boards, the shortest route may pass via a stair. In the subway station, every space with an ambulance symbol counts as an exit. This Kickstarter-exclusive release was produced in 4,500 copies and originally included a card and rules but no miniature; a corresponding miniature was later included in Flash Point: Fire Rescue – Tragic Events.
