About this expansion

Fresco: The Bishop’s Favor is a promotional 2011 module for Fresco for 2–4 players, with a listed play time of 60 minutes. Also known as Module 11, it adds 25 small favor tiles to the game.

At the start of the game, the favor tiles are placed face-down, randomized, and distributed one per fresco tile on the game board. Their rewards remain hidden until a player completes a fresco tile where the bishop is currently located.

When that happens, the player claims both the completed fresco tile and its favor tile. The favor is then revealed and grants an immediate reward, adding an extra incentive to complete the right fresco at the right time.

  • Paint in red, blue, or yellow
  • Money worth 1 or 5
  • One victory point
  • One mood improvement

The bishop’s position is crucial. If a player completes a fresco tile where the bishop is not located, the corresponding favor tile is removed from the game face-down, and no player receives its benefit. This makes each opportunity temporary and keeps the hidden rewards uncertain.

Fresco: The Bishop’s Favor was offered by Queen Games for Spiel 2011 and was included in the Big Box and MegaBox. As a compact addition, it introduces face-down tiles, immediate rewards, and a clear positional condition to the fresco-completion process.
