About this board game

Islebound is a strategy board game for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 120 minutes. Set across a mystical archipelago, it puts each player in command of a ship and crew competing to build the most successful sea-faring nation.

Sail between island towns to collect resources, hire crew, and commission buildings for your capital city. Every building has a unique ability, so the combination you create can support very different approaches, whether you focus on trading, construction, or invasion.

• Explore the archipelago: Visit bustling island towns while gathering treasure and resources.
• Develop your capital: Commission buildings whose distinctive abilities can strengthen your overall strategy.
• Conquer or befriend towns: Recruit pirates and sea monsters for conquest, or complete events to gain influence and pursue diplomacy.

Conquered towns let you complete their town action for free and charge opponents a fee if they want to use it. Alternatively, influence earned from events can be spent to befriend towns, giving you another way to expand your position without relying solely on force.

With several routes to success, Islebound invites you to decide what kind of leader you will become. Play as a ruthless conqueror, a careful diplomat, or a shrewd merchant while adapting your plans to the opportunities across the islands.

At the end of the game, the player with the most wealth and the most impressive capital city wins. Released in 2016, Islebound combines exploration, resource collection, crew recruitment, town actions, and city development in a contest for control of a remarkable maritime world.
