About this expansion

Islebound: Metropolis Expansion is a 2016 expansion for 2–4 players, with a listed play time of 120 minutes. It adds 40 new building cards and 2 new Reputation cards to the game.

Metropolis building cards are easy to identify by their orange sunset background. When using the expansion, place an additional row of cards above the normal building cards during setup, creating a separate selection of new buildings to purchase.

Only three Metropolis cards are available to purchase at a time. Their positions in the row determine their book requirements: the cards require one, two, or three books, depending on where they appear.

• Additional renown for every Metropolis card

Metropolis buildings also impose an important ownership requirement. You must have one normal building for every Metropolis building you own, so expanding into this new set of cards is tied to your collection of regular buildings.

Because they are more difficult to obtain, each Metropolis card is worth +1 renown. Islebound: Metropolis Expansion therefore adds a compact set of new cards and clear purchasing restrictions, giving the building display an extra layer of requirements and rewards.
