King’s Forge: Apprentices is a modular 2015 expansion for 2–5 players that supports games lasting about 60 minutes. It broadens the crafting contest for those seeking a position at King Alphons Sedwickson III’s royal court.

The expansion introduces a range of optional additions, allowing players to use any combination of its modules with the base game. New rules, dice, and Smithy tiles can open the game to a fifth player, expanding the competition among village craftspeople.

Apprentice cards bring “glorified interns” into the royal workshop. Players can hire these apprentices to gain permanent bonuses, adding a lasting advantage to their crafting efforts.

New Craft cards emphasize both ends of the Craft item spectrum, featuring items from the easiest to the most difficult parts of that range. Gathering cards also increase the size and diversity of each game’s Gather Deck, creating more variety in the locations available around the village.
