About this expansion
Lock ‘n Load: Not One Step Back is a two-player World War II Eastern Front expansion with an approximately 60-minute play time. It adds the units, rules, scenarios, counters, and mapboards needed to recreate desperate struggles across the Russian steppe, the ruins of Stalingrad, and partisan-infested woodlands.
Command powerful Soviet armor such as the KV-1, SU-152, and JS-2, or send German King Tigers into battle against T-34s and other Soviet vehicles. Soviet Guards can lead city counterattacks, while German Pioneers attempt to retake lost ground. Partisans ambush German convoys, and Commissars help keep wavering troops in line.
The expansion broadens both sides’ forces with an extensive selection of vehicles and infantry. Notable additions include:
- Soviet T-34/76, T-70, T-34/85, JS-2, KV-1, SU-76, SU-85, and SU-152 tanks
- German King Tigers, halftracks, and Sd 222 armored cars
- Guards, Line Soviets, Partisans, Commissars, Nurses, veteran German infantry, and German Pioneers
- Molotov Cocktails, DP-28s, 45mm and 76mm anti-tank guns, 82mm mortars, and 12.7mm machine guns
Not One Step Back also includes 255 die-cut counters and three mounted geomorphic mapboards. Its hex halos have been seriously toned down, providing a refined visual presentation for the Eastern Front battles.
This is not a complete game. To play all twelve scenarios, you need both Lock ‘n Load: Band of Heroes and Lock ‘n Load: Swift & Bold. Most missions can be played with Not One Step Back and Band of Heroes, making this expansion a focused addition to the Lock ‘n Load series.
