About this expansion

Lock ‘n Load: Swift and Bold is a two-player expansion for Band of Heroes, offering 12 missions and approximately 30 minutes of play time. Released in 2007, it expands the forces, battles, and options available in the original game with the addition of British paratroopers.

The twelve new scenarios span the D-Day drops and Operation Market Garden, bringing new situations and forces to the Band of Heroes experience. The expansion includes 85 new counters, along with rules for Piats, gliders, the British 2-inch mortar, and more.

British equipment and units make a strong appearance, giving players new counters such as the British Piat, Vickers MG, 2 Pounder ATG, Horsa glider, Cromwell, Firefly, and Bren. These additions broaden the available forces while introducing the distinctive equipment featured in the new missions.

The German side also receives new options, including the deadly but unreliable Panther G, 20mm Flak guns, the Panzer MKIV, and new squads. Together, these additions create a larger selection of forces and scenarios for players returning to the original game.

Lock ‘n Load: Swift and Bold is no longer available as a current edition. A new, improved, and expanded edition can be found in Lock ‘n Load Tactical: Heroes of Normandy.
