About this board game

Mafia de Cuba is a hidden-role deduction game for 6–12 players that plays in about 20 minutes. Set in Havana on December 29, 1955, it places players among the Godfather’s henchmen, with a cigar box hiding a fortune in diamonds beneath its cigars.

When the Godfather is summoned to meet President Batista, he entrusts the box to his trusted associates. Each player takes the box, opens it, and secretly chooses how to respond to the opportunity inside.

  • Betray the Godfather by stealing some diamonds.
  • Remain a faithful and “honest” mafioso.
  • Become a driver.
  • Act as an undercover CIA agent.

When the Godfather returns, he discovers that diamonds are missing and demands answers. He must recover his treasure by questioning the group, weighing their claims, and identifying the people responsible for the theft.

The game’s tension comes from heated debates and perilous deductions. The Godfather and his faithful henchmen try to find all the stolen diamonds, while thieves attempt to remain hidden and the CIA seeks to send these criminals behind bars.

Accusations carry a cost: the Godfather may lose his honor by wrongly accusing someone. Meanwhile, the most cunning thieves may escape with their diamonds. In Mafia de Cuba, every decision around the cigar box can shape the fate of the entire group.

Released in 2015, Mafia de Cuba delivers a compact social contest of secrecy, suspicion, and deduction for groups looking for a fast game filled with bluffing and dramatic accusations.
