About this board game

Octocube is a 2025 board game for 2–4 players, with games lasting about 25 minutes. Take the form of a cubic octopus and compete to gather treasures hidden in stacks of tiles beneath the sea.

In the depths, surface dwellers have left valuable objects behind. Octopuses collect these treasures and build stacks in their secret lairs. Your challenge is to move from stack to stack, choosing the objects that will help you score while limiting the opportunities available to your opponents.

The central action in Octocube is rolling your cube-shaped octopus across the play area. As you travel between stacks of tiles, your octopus magnetically gathers objects. Each choice contributes to your collection, but your movement can also be used to block rival octopuses and interfere with their plans.

Points are scored throughout the game whenever you clear the faces of your cube. This creates an ongoing scoring objective as you collect treasures and manage the changing position of your octopus. Careful choices can help you make progress while also contesting the available stacks.

When the game ends, majorities provide another way to increase your score. Compete to collect more of the relevant objects than your opponents, then use those majority results to boost your final total. With direct interaction, tile-to-tile movement, magnetic collection, and end-game majority scoring, Octocube combines tactical gathering with opportunities to obstruct your rivals.
