Panzer: Game Expansion Set, Nr 1 – The Shape of Battle on the Eastern Front 1943-45 is a 2012 expansion for 2–4 players, requiring the Panzer base game. It broadens the game’s forces and battlefields across the war period from 1940 through 1945.

The expansion focuses especially on Kursk, with orders of battle for both sides and detailed Tables of Organization and Equipment for four notable German divisions: Grossdeutschland Panzer Grenadier Division and the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd SS Panzer Grenadier Divisions. Soviet Tank and Mechanized Corps, Infantry and Guard Infantry Divisions, and other support formations are also outlined.

Seven scenarios are included, while four double-sided geomorphic mapboards provide eight map layouts in total. Their 1-inch hexes let players recreate tactical battles reminiscent of fighting across the seemingly endless steppes of Russia.

Soviet forces include the IS-3, ISU-122, ISU-152, KV tanks, SU-122, T-34/76 variants, artillery, armored cars, and Pe-2 and Su-2 aircraft.
