About this expansion

Power Grid: Northern Europe/United Kingdom & Ireland is a pair of Power Grid expansions for 2–6 players, with games lasting about 120 minutes.

The set includes twelve power plant cards exclusive to Northern Europe, adding two maps with distinctly different conditions. Each map presents its own way to approach electricity production and network development.

• Northern Europe: Seven countries use very different energy sources for producing electricity. The regions selected for play determine the set of power plants players face.
• United Kingdom & Ireland: Players operate two different networks across the two isles. Ireland and Great Britain have no direct connection, so starting the second network comes at a high cost.

The United Kingdom & Ireland map also reflects a rapid change from resource exporter to resource importer. As a result, Step 3 begins earlier on this map, changing the pace of the game.

With its contrasting locations, variable plant sets, and separate network challenge, Power Grid: Northern Europe/United Kingdom & Ireland gives Power Grid players two new settings to explore. Choose Northern Europe for changing energy-source conditions, or take on the disconnected networks of the United Kingdom and Ireland.

Released in 2012, this expansion set is designed for the established Power Grid player count of two to six and retains the series’ approximately two-hour play time.
