About this expansion
Race for the Galaxy: New Worlds Promo Cards is a set of six new start worlds for Race for the Galaxy, for 1-5 players with a playing time of 60 minutes.
These cards can be added to the base game and any expansions. They introduce new starting options while using the start rule from Rebel vs. Imperium, giving each player a broader selection before the game begins.
The six new start worlds are:
- Star Nomad Raiders
- Industrial Robots
- Galactic Trade Emissaries
- Terraforming Colonists
- Abandoned Mine Squatters
- Gateway Station
To use the start rule, separate all start worlds by number into odd (red) and even (blue) groups. Shuffle the two groups, then deal each player two start worlds: one from each group.
Next, shuffle the remaining start worlds together with the game cards and deal six cards to each player. Each player examines their eight cards, along with any expansion goals in play, before choosing which options to keep.
Players discard one of their two dealt start worlds and two of their six game cards. They then reveal their remaining start worlds and begin play. Race for the Galaxy: New Worlds Promo Cards adds a compact set of new possibilities to the opening setup without changing the core objective of building your galactic tableau.
