About this expansion

Railroad Ink: Underground Expansion Pack is a puzzle expansion for 1–4 players that adds underground networks to the Railroad Ink system, with games lasting about 30 minutes.

In Railroad Ink, players aim to connect as many exits on their board as possible. Each round, a shared set of dice determines which road and railway routes are available to everyone, creating a common puzzle for all players to solve on their own boards.

This expansion includes four Underground dice, which can be used in two different ways. Choose the mode that best suits the way you want to expand your game:

• Standalone mode: Use the Underground dice instead of the normal Route dice. Build underground networks of Subway Routes and Water Pipes to score points in a completely new way.
• Expansion mode: Use the Underground dice together with the normal Route dice, while keeping the two systems separate. Each player needs two boards: one for the Surface and one for the Underground.

In Expansion mode, the basic Route dice are used on the Surface board according to the normal rules. The Underground dice and their rules apply to the Underground board, letting both layers develop alongside one another without mixing them.

Railroad Ink: Underground Expansion Pack offers a fresh network-building challenge while preserving the shared-dice puzzle at the heart of the series. At least one core set of Railroad Ink or Railroad Ink Challenge is required to use this expansion pack.
