Railroad Tiles: Monuments Expansion

About this expansion

Railroad Tiles: Monuments Expansion is a 2025 expansion for 1–4 players, with a playing time of around 30 minutes, that adds archaeological exploration and monument collection to the landscape you create.

Each player receives an additional pawn: the Archaeologist. Move this pawn around your landscape by spending Action points and using the routes you have placed. Your goal is to discover archaeological sites and place sets of different monument types: Arch, Temple, and Tower.

Players have 3 Action points to spend each round. You can gain additional Action points by choosing not to use a Placement tile in the Active zone during that round. Each Action point can be used to move the Archaeologist to an adjacent tile connected by Highway.

If the Archaeologist is on a tile containing a Station, an Action point can instead move it to another Station tile connected to the starting Station by Railway. When the Archaeologist reaches a tile with an empty Monument pin point, you may spend 1 Action point to place a Monument pawn of the indicated type there.

• Explore: Move the Archaeologist along Highways and connected Railways.
• Build: Place Arch, Temple, and Tower pawns at archaeological sites.
• Score: Gain 1 point for each Monument pawn and 3 points for every complete set of three different types at the end of the game.
• Pursue objectives: Work toward additional goals, such as positioning the Archaeologist around the Museum or building at least two Towers around the Castle.

Monuments do not score when they are placed, making their final arrangement important. With its extra pawn, flexible Action points, route-based movement, and objective cards, Railroad Tiles: Monuments Expansion adds a focused archaeological challenge to the developing landscape.
