About this expansion
Railways of Mexico is a board game expansion for 2–4 players, with an approximate play time of 90 minutes. Set in mid-19th-century Mexico, it challenges players to build the best rail system south of the border and compete for control of the country’s developing railways.
As railroad companies emerge across the United States, transportation of goods reaches an all-time high. Trade between countries is booming, and Mexico is ready to develop its rail system to support the movement of goods toward the USA.
Players take on the challenge of expanding across the Mexico map while pursuing the goal of creating a strong and successful railroad network. The central objective is clear: build the best system and control the Railways of Mexico.
This expansion includes the materials needed to play on its dedicated map:
- Mexico gameboard
- Railroad Baron cards for the Mexico map
- Railroad Operation cards for the Mexico map
- Scoreboard
- Rules
Railways of Mexico was designed as a self-contained expansion for owners of Railroad Tycoon and the first edition of Railways of the World. It was also scheduled for inclusion in the revised edition of the Railways of the World base game, making Mexico’s railway development part of that updated release.
With its focused regional setting, dedicated cards, and Mexico gameboard, Railways of Mexico offers a new setting for players interested in railroad development, international trade, and competition to establish the strongest route network.
