About this expansion

Railways of the Western U.S. is a 2010 expansion for 2–6 players, with games lasting about 120 minutes. It brings the railway-building adventure to a new map featuring the western half of the United States.

Using the score track, pieces, tiles, money, trains, bonds, and rules from Railways of the World, players build track and deliver goods to increase their income and earn points. The core mechanics and gameplay remain unchanged, making this map a direct way to extend the original game.

Alongside the new map, the expansion includes additional pieces and rules. These extras are optional, so they can be used with this expansion, the base game, and all other expansions. This gives players the choice to keep the experience familiar or add the new elements to their railway games.
