Risk: The Walking Dead – Survival Edition is a strategy board game for 2–5 players, with games lasting around 60 minutes. It combines familiar Risk gameplay with the setting and threats of The Walking Dead comic series.

Players compete to claim territories, win bonuses, and eliminate their opponents on a map of the southeastern United States. The map contains 32 territories divided across six zones, creating a battlefield where every area can contribute to the struggle for control.

Rival players are not the only danger. At the start of each player’s turn, unrelenting hordes of undead spawn across the map, forcing players to protect themselves while also competing for resources and attacking one another. Survival is a constant concern alongside expansion and conquest.

Risk: The Walking Dead has a fixed number of turns, giving the game a defined conclusion. Players can also choose a more decisive battle in which play continues until all but one player has been eliminated.
