About this expansion

Le Château des Templiers is a two-player castle-siege extension for Siege and Croisades, with an approximately 120-minute playing time. Released in 1987, it presents a mighty fortress set in the Crusader States.

The castle is freely adapted from the famous Krak des Chevaliers in Syria. Its design creates a formidable defensive position with four defense lines, giving the battlefield a strongly layered structure. An impassable moat, chicane, and drawbridge add distinctive obstacles to the approach.

Beyond its visible defenses, the fortress includes a secret passage and hidden stairways. These features are part of a castle layout built around siege warfare, while the accompanying booklet supplies additional rules for using the extension.

  • Two full-color maps
  • Three sheets of counters from Siege and Croisades
  • One damage and battering sheet
  • One eight-page booklet

The booklet contains a short description of the castle as well as the additional siege rules. Together, the maps and components provide the setting and materials needed to add this imposing stronghold to the related games.

Le Château des Templiers is an extension rather than a standalone scenario collection, and no scenario is included. Its focus is the castle itself: a richly structured defensive environment with multiple approaches, fortified layers, and specialized features that distinguish it from a more open battlefield.
