About this expansion

Small World: 6 Player Board is a 2013 expansion for Small World and Small World Underground, designed for exactly six players and an 80-minute game. Players compete in three teams of two, while each person controls their own choices, attacks, and scoring.

Teammates may discuss strategy openly, but they do not take turns as a shared player. Each player chooses new races, decides where to attack, and manages their own score. After eight rounds, a team’s result is equal to the score of its lower-scoring member, so both teammates must contribute to a winning performance.

The double-sided board supports both games in the series. One side shows a surface landscape for Small World, while the other presents an underground world for Small World Underground.

  • Three teams of two competing across eight rounds
  • One double-sided board with surface and underground settings
  • One relic and four places created especially for team play

The team-focused locations introduce new ways for partners to support one another. A tavern lets you collect two coins and share them with anyone you want. A mirror allows you to change powers with your teammate, while a boneyard protects all of one player’s troops that are “in decline” from racial and special powers owned by opponents.

And then there is the Golden Soapbar. With its dedicated six-player format and distinctive team scoring, Small World: 6 Player Board adds a new way to experience both Small World and Small World Underground with a full group of six.
