About this board game

String Safari is a board game for 3–5 players that takes about 30 minutes. Playing as zoologists on the African plains, you compete to gather information about scattered animals and complete research goals.

Before an animal can be studied, it must be brought under control. Enclose animals within your study range using your string; doing so also earns you a point. Every decision combines observation with careful positioning as you work to study the correct animals.

The savanna presents more than a collection of animals. Different animal attributes affect the information you can gather, while the topography influences your ability to study them. To succeed, pay attention to both what you are trying to research and the landscape around it.

  • Enclose animals with your string to place them under control.
  • Earn a point when you enclose animals in your study range.
  • Use animal attributes and topography while pursuing research goals.
  • Compete to complete the most research on the correct animals.

The animal-filled setting features elephants, lions, zebras, hippos, and giraffes, giving the game a clear safari theme. Your goal is not simply to control animals, but to turn that control into useful research and complete the right objectives.

At the end of the game, the player who completes the most research on the correct animals wins. Special rules are included so that even young children can take part, making String Safari suitable for family play while retaining its zoological theme and string-based challenge.
