Tannhäuser: Itami is a 2011 board game for 2–10 players, with a playing time of approximately 120 minutes, centered on a mysterious human-Oni hybrid and his extraordinary powers.

Drawn forth from Naraka through a blend of science and mysticism, Itami is one of the Shōgunate’s most fearsome assets. His immense blue form shrugs off bullets, while his unearthly gaze can inflict pain and bend the will of those who face him.

Itami’s abilities extend beyond brute strength. An unholy penumbra seeps from his body, draining the essences of those around him, while his kenabō, wrapped in mystically imbued leather, gives him a formidable weapon for confronting enemies.

For now, Itami works to secure mutual benefits between the Shōgunate and the Inferior Worlds. He has been assigned to Iroh Minamoto’s 3rd Division, where his unusual talents can support the Shōgunate’s exploration of its tenuous alliance with the Reich.

With its blend of supernatural menace, military conflict, and uneasy alliances, Tannhäuser: Itami brings a distinctive character and dedicated scenario to the game’s setting. The result is a dark confrontation shaped by pain, fear, mysticism, and powers that even the Shōgunate does not fully understand.
