About this expansion

The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game – A Journey to Rhosgobel is a 1–2 player Adventure Pack for a game lasting about 60 minutes. Released in 2011, it is the third Adventure Pack in the Shadows of Mirkwood Cycle.

While searching for Gollum in the Anduin Valley, the heroes hear an eagle’s cry and discover the great bird badly wounded by goblin weapons. Their mission takes an urgent turn: they must bring their valuable ally to Rhosgobel and find the wizard Radagast, whose knowledge of the wild may offer the help the eagle needs.

The journey is a race against danger and deterioration. Every step toward Rhosgobel causes the avian ally more pain, while foul minions of the Shadow threaten the heroes’ progress. Saving the eagle also gives players a chance to preserve the trust of the Eagles, whose presence is important throughout the Shadows of Mirkwood Adventure Packs.

  • 60 fixed cards from the Shadows of Mirkwood cycle
  • New Eagles for the Tactics sphere
  • A Leadership Dúnedain Quest designed to inspire confidence
  • Haldir of Lórien, whose unnatural agility can aid the party

A Journey to Rhosgobel combines an urgent rescue objective with the continuing search for Gollum. Heroes must navigate the perilous trek, withstand the Shadow’s forces, and reach Radagast before their injured companion perishes.

For players continuing the unfolding Anduin Valley story, The Lord of the Rings: The Card Game – A Journey to Rhosgobel adds a focused adventure, new Eagle support, and fresh options for Leadership and Tactics decks.
