About this board game
Toscana is a strategy game for 2–5 players that takes about 45 minutes, placing you in the competitive world of wine as the owner of a winery in Tuscany.
Each round gives every player three available actions: Hiring, Winemaking, and Trading. Players take these actions in turn, and the order in which they act can have important consequences.
During the Hiring action, you can bring in winemakers or winemasters to make wine, or hire a Lobbyist or Mr. Rosé to influence the marketplace. The Winemaking action lets you produce wine, while Trading allows you to buy or sell it at the Wine Stock Market.
Toscana combines stock market play with area control in a distinctive blend. Its rules and structure are short and clear, but the game offers considerable depth, minimal random elements, and plenty of difficult decisions for both gamers and non-gamers.
- Players: 2–5
- Playing time: approximately 45 minutes
- Release year: 2010

With optional map pieces for creating a random map and components for five player colors, Toscana offers a competitive experience that is simple to learn yet loaded with tricky choices.
