Trickerion: The Secret Workshop

Trickerion: The Secret Workshop is a 2018 promo card for 1–4 players, with a listed play time of 180 minutes. Given free as part of the Pocket Dragon Kickstarter campaign, it adds a new location to use during the Place Characters phase.

Place the card next to the main board and within reach of all players. A single character may be assigned to it using any Workshop assignment card, including Special Assignment cards, and that character gains +1 Action Point.

The special location does not offer the normal Workshop actions. Instead, it introduces Expert Preparations, allowing a player to spend AP to prepare Tricks with greater flexibility.

• Spend one AP to place one Trick Marker.
• Place the marker on one of your Tricks when its component requirement is met.
• Ignore that Trick’s preparation AP cost and place markers even if it already has Trick Markers.

This creates a focused preparation option for players who meet the required component conditions and want to place Trick Markers without following the usual preparation AP cost. Because the location uses Workshop assignment cards, it fits directly into the existing Workshop assignment process while replacing the normal Workshop actions with its distinct effect.

When playing solo against Dahlgaard’s Heir, which requires the Dahlgaard’s Academy expansion, the Heir attempts to use this location whenever it is sent to the Workshop. The location is treated as contested while both the player and the Heir have played a Workshop assignment card but have not yet placed their character.

Trickerion: The Secret Workshop is a compact promotional addition centered on AP-efficient Trick Marker placement and a new contested-location consideration in solo play.
