About this expansion

Tsukuyumi: Sunrise Kingdom is a 2022 expansion for 3–5 players, with games lasting about 180 minutes. Set in the southern hemisphere where Australia once stood, it moves the struggle farther from the moon—but not beyond danger.

The Sun Goddess Amaterasu has opened portals to ancient times and sent powerful Guardians to aid the living beings of the world. Surviving factions battle for resources and habitat while resisting the relentless Oni onslaught.

This limited-edition standee version introduces five all-new factions, each fully compatible with factions from the base game and previous expansions:

  • The First Guardians
  • Circle of the Sun
  • Sisters of Seven
  • Moon Circus
  • Reef Collective

Sunrise Kingdom also adds a completely new game mode without a central moon. Instead, players use portals to move across the map at lightning speed while three powerful Guardians support the fight against the Oni. Each Guardian has a unique supernatural power that changes how it can be moved and used, and this mode works with all factions, including those from earlier releases and the base box.

A new territory type, Amaterasu, provides areas that the Oni may not conquer. Every new faction includes cards for the two-player mode, faction events, and its mascot. The two-player expansion is required for two-player games, while After the Moonfall is required for six players.

With its new factions, portal movement, and Guardian powers, Tsukuyumi: Sunrise Kingdom offers fresh ways to confront the Oni and reshape the battle for survival.
