Zombies!!! 13: DEFCON Z is a zombie-survival board game for 2–6 players, with play taking around 60 minutes. Released in 2014, it brings the military, the CDC, and others into the fight as they finally begin to mobilize against the zombie threat.

This effort is all about retaliation. The organizations responding to the crisis seek out people with firsthand experience cutting through zombie legions, and that means turning to you and your fellow players.

You are among the survivors who have spent all these years living in the shambler-infested wilds. That experience makes you a valuable part of the response, placing your group at the center of a larger attempt to push back against the undead threat.

With its focus on experienced survivors and the growing organized response, Zombies!!! 13: DEFCON Z expands the setting of the Zombies!!! series while remaining accessible as its own game. It can be played in either of two ways:

• As a standalone game for 2–6 players.
• As an expansion for Zombies!!!.

Whether approached as a new entry point or added to an existing Zombies!!! collection, DEFCON Z frames the zombie crisis from the perspective of survivors being recruited for their hard-earned experience. The military and the CDC are no longer sitting back, and the response is finally beginning to take shape.
