About this expansion

Ticket to Ride Map Collection 5: United Kingdom & Pennsylvania is a 2–5 player expansion for Ticket to Ride or Ticket to Ride: Europe, with games lasting about 75 minutes.

This collection includes a double-sided board featuring two distinct maps and rule sets. One side takes players across Pennsylvania, while the other explores the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland at the beginning of the railway era.

On the Pennsylvania map, completing a route lets a player claim a share in one of the companies shown beside it. At the end of the game, the player with more shares in a company than any opponent earns points for that company, adding a new layer to route planning.

The United Kingdom map introduces technology. Players begin able to build only one- and two-train routes in England. By spending wild cards, they can unlock longer routes, construct ferries across water, and expand into Scotland, Wales, and Ireland.

• Bonus cards can award extra points for taking certain actions during play.

Advanced Technology cards are included, but designer Alan R. Moon noted that they were not fully playtested and were not intended for the basic game. The collection can also be used with Ticket to Ride: Nordic Countries, although that option is limited to three players and requires spare trains.

With two maps that change the core decisions in different ways, Ticket to Ride Map Collection 5: United Kingdom & Pennsylvania offers distinct railway challenges in a single expansion.
