Tikal Legend

About this board game

Tikal Legend is a 2026 board game for 1–4 players, with games lasting about 180 minutes. It combines exploration, placement, and majority as players venture through the Central American jungles in search of lost temples and treasures.

As in the award-winning Tikal, the ultimate goal is to score the most prestige points during the in-game scoring phases. Tikal Legend expands the range of ways to pursue that goal, giving players a broader toolbox for tactical decisions and long-term planning.

Players can choose and perform their actions in the order they prefer. Spending action points is only one option among many, allowing each turn to become an opportunity to adapt your plans and develop your expedition.

• Explore the jungle and place new areas.
• Control temples and collect treasures.
• Claim different terrains and benefit from card effects.
• Manipulate the map to support your strategy.
• Recruit additional expedition members.

These interconnected choices create a new level of tactical and strategic planning while preserving the central pursuit of prestige. Whether you focus on temples, treasures, terrain, cards, or a combination of options, every decision contributes to your expedition through the jungle.

Two versions of Tikal Legend—standard and deluxe, with upgraded components—are available in English and French. Either version includes everything needed to play the base game of Tikal, the complete new Tikal Legend game, and a new solo mode developed by John Albertson, Aleksandr Saranac, Jeremy Avery, and Dávid Turczi.

Note that Tikal Legend cannot be played with only a copy of Tikal.
