About this expansion

Dwellings of Eldervale: Minotaur is a mercenary expansion for 1–5 players, adding a tough fighter to games of Dwellings of Eldervale, which have a play time of 150 minutes.

Eldervale is filled with rumors of skilled mercenaries willing to fight for any side that can pay. The Minotaur is an optional Unit, not a Monster, and can be included at the beginning of any game.

To set up the expansion, place the 50mm Minotaur miniature or standee and its corresponding Mercenary card in a central area where all players can see and reach them. On your turn, hiring the Minotaur is a Free Action that requires either Gold or an Orb.

  • Pay with Gold to keep the Minotaur until the end of your next Regroup action.
  • Pay with an Orb to keep it for the rest of the game.
  • The hired Minotaur goes directly into your Ready Area and is available for use.

In battle, the Minotaur rolls 3 dice. Its optional Charge ability lets it Rush into adjacent Realms like Monsters, and the ability triggers whenever an opponent places in a Realm adjacent to the Minotaur.

The Minotaur arrives in its own tuckbox with the miniature, standee, and Mercenary card. It has always been a separate item and was never included in any version of Dwellings of Eldervale, including Kickstarter versions. Add Dwellings of Eldervale: Minotaur when you want a paid fighter who can suddenly enter nearby conflicts.
