About this expansion

Battles of Westeros: Wardens of the West is a Lannister reinforcement set for two players, with games lasting about 60 minutes. It expands the battle with new commanders, units, cards, miniatures, and battlefield elements.

The set introduces Tyrion Lannister, Sandor Clegane, and Daven Lannister. Each commander has distinct strengths and weaknesses, along with special abilities and leadership cards that add new ways to lead Lannister forces.

Sandor “the Hound” Clegane uses the new fearsome keyword. This ability prevents enemies from disengaging and forces them to retreat two hexes for each morale result rolled in combat.

Wardens of the West also adds three new Lannister unit types, each with a different battlefield identity:

• House Brax pikemen specialize in formations.
• Clegane crossbowmen use the new aimed shot keyword.
• Westerlands militia are easy to break and lack formal military training, but appear in vast numbers.

New rules and components broaden the tactical possibilities of the game. Gambit cards, formations, and deadly catapults introduce additional mechanics, while terrain overlays, banners, and tokens help expand the battlefield.

With more than 30 new plastic miniatures and over 30 new cards, the set provides substantial new Lannister content. It also includes a Rules and Battle Plans book, making Wardens of the West a focused addition for players seeking new commanders, formations, and unit abilities in Battles of Westeros.
