About this expansion

Etherfields: Funeral Witch Campaign is a dark, story-driven campaign for 1–4 players, with an advertised play time of 180 minutes. It follows the mysterious Funeral Witch, a figure associated with sadness, pain, and regret after a loss.

The Funeral Witch is moody, chaotic, and temperamental, changing her behaviour completely from one encounter to the next. Players must face this uncertainty while seeking the key to her changes and wondering whether understanding her will make future encounters easier to prepare for.

Fluctuation and cyclicality shape the campaign’s rhythm. Its story is accompanied by drabness, darkness, and ruins, creating a journey that may lead through the depths of black sorrow or toward a ray of light and a mysterious goal.

One of the campaign’s defining features is its special additional 48-page Book of Scripts. While Etherfields normally places adventures, conversations, scenes, and other text directly on cards and tiles—with graphics balancing the amount of writing—this campaign uses substantially more pure text. The book is primarily devoted to extensive dialogues with its characters.

Across the campaign, players will encounter distinctive dream locations, including:

  • The highest floors of a crumbling, half-broken block of flats, reached by stairs and an old elevator
  • A strange cemetery located on the roof of a building
  • The Museum of Death and the Great Cathedral
  • The snow void
  • A game of hide and seek

With its shifting encounters, substantial scripted dialogue, and bleak dream imagery, Etherfields: Funeral Witch Campaign presents a mysterious and text-rich chapter in the Etherfields setting.
