About this expansion

Hollow Legions: ASL Module 7a is a two-player Advanced Squad Leader module released in 2021, with an approximate playing time of 240 minutes. This third edition brings together Italian, desert, and East African campaigns in one comprehensive collection.

The module includes the complete contents of the original Hollow Legions, including the Italian order of battle, revised Italian Chapter H, two desert boards, and eight scenarios. It also incorporates the scenarios, boards, rules, and desert materials from the now-superseded West of Alamein, along with 29 previously out-of-print scenarios.

A major addition is Soldiers of the Negus, which expands the Italian theater to East Africa and the Second Italo-Ethiopian War of 1935–36. Counters for Ethiopian and Eritrean forces are included, supporting scenarios set during Mussolini’s campaign against Emperor Haile Selassie’s largely tribal armies.

In total, Hollow Legions contains 53 ASL scenarios drawn from the original module, West of Alamein, Action Pack 3, various out-of-print publications, and Soldiers of the Negus. The selection includes the mini-campaign Line in the Sand as well as actions featuring Italian forces, desert warfare, or both.
