About this expansion

Railroad Tiles: Forest Expansion is an easy-complexity expansion for 1–4 players, with games lasting about 30 minutes. Released in 2025, it adds forests, lookout towers, and new objectives to your network-building game.

Your main goal is to build Forest tiles around your network while keeping separate forest groups apart. At the end of the game, each group of at least three orthogonally adjacent Forest tiles scores 3 points, rewarding careful placement and connected clusters.

Some Forest tiles feature pinpoints for Lookout Tower pawns. These pawns can be placed using any Placement token as a wild card instead of placing the corresponding standard pawn. Each Lookout Tower scores 1 point, plus 1 additional point for every orthogonal direction in which it has at least one Forest tile.

• Build Forest groups while keeping them separate from one another.
• Score 3 points for each group containing at least 3 orthogonally adjacent Forest tiles.
• Place Lookout Towers and score them according to their surrounding Forest tiles.
• Complete expansion objectives that introduce additional placement conditions.

Forest also includes several Objectives that add distinct challenges to your plans. The Witch’s House does not want to share a row or column with a Lookout Tower, while the Camping Ground must have at least four Forest tiles around it.

Marked as Easy complexity, the Forest Expansion is designed as a strong early expansion or a welcoming choice for games with inexperienced players. In Railroad Tiles: Forest Expansion, every tile placement can shape both your scoring opportunities and your route toward the objectives.
