About this expansion

Tannhäuser: Mizu is a 2011 board game for 2-10 players, centered on Mizu Kage, an “international liaison” for the Shōgunate. A skilled operative and determined diplomat, Mizu prefers to negotiate with her deadly sai blades, Willow and Winding Stream.

Mizu has twice saved “the Daimyo” from certain death and has also brought down three Reich soldiers who attempted to betray their tentative alliance with the Shōgunate. Now, she has been tasked with gathering information that the Reich’s allies have been withholding.

Her mission can follow different paths. With her sai, shuriken, and happo, Mizu may choose a path of blood or attempt an infiltration, moving unseen and unheard as she works toward completing her task.

  • Play as Mizu Kage, an official liaison of the Shōgunate.
  • Use sai, shuriken, and happo as part of her deadly repertoire.
  • Choose between direct violence and covert infiltration.
  • Build a team with Reich forces under the Nippon Accords, or join an all-Shōgunate team.

As a member of the Shōgunate, Mizu can partner with Reich forces according to the Nippon Accords. Alternatively, she can feature in a team made exclusively from Shōgunate characters, giving her place in either a delicate alliance or a united faction.

Tannhäuser: Mizu presents a character defined by quiet purpose, lethal skill, and divided loyalties. Whether diplomacy requires a whisper through the night trees or a decisive strike, Mizu Kage is prepared to finish what she started.
