About this expansion

Forgotten War: Korea 1950-1953 – ASL Module 15 is a two-player Advanced Squad Leader module covering the Korean War, with games lasting about 120 minutes.

For the first time, an Advanced Squad Leader module moves beyond the traditional World War II era. The module introduces Steep Hills, reflecting the challenges of movement and combat in rugged Korean terrain, along with Bayonet Charges and Proximity Fuses.

Air support is expanded with Tactical Air Control Parties, airborne Forward Air Controllers, and jet aircraft such as the F-80C Shooting Star and F9F-2 Panther. These additions bring new dimensions to the Korean War setting.

Forgotten War includes distinct nationalities and expanded forces for both sides:

  • United Nations forces: R.O.K., O.U.N.C., U.S. Army, U.S. Marine Corps, and British and Commonwealth forces from Australia, Canada, and New Zealand.
  • Communist forces: K.P.A. and C.P.V.A.

The module contains sixteen ASL scenarios, Chapter W rules for the Korean War, and Chapter H rules for the American, Commonwealth, O.U.N., R.O.K., K.P.A., and C.P.V.A. forces. Its physical contents include seven countersheets, four 8″ × 22″ maps numbered 80–83, two chapter dividers, and one box and lid.

Forgotten War is not a complete game. The Advanced Squad Leader Game System is required for play, making this a focused expansion for players who already own that system. Released in 2018, Forgotten War offers a dedicated Korean War setting within the ASL framework.
