About this expansion

Android: Netrunner – The Spaces Between is a two-player data pack for Android: Netrunner, with games lasting about 45 minutes. Released in 2014, it is the second Data Pack in the game’s Lunar Cycle.

The set continues the cyberstruggles of the moon, where reduced gravity, recycled air, and corporate-sponsored colonies shape the setting. At the same time, it examines a fundamental question about events and operations: what happens after they are played and sent to the discard pile?

Events and operations represent ephemeral processes taking place in both the physical world and the virtual one. Their effects may seem temporary, but signals transmitted into space can leave echoes behind. Through repetition, those echoes may gain a form of permanence and influence future events.

  • 60 new cards: three copies each of twenty different cards
  • New cards that re-examine the nature of events and operations
  • A new current for every faction

Currents are events or operations that are not immediately resolved and discarded after being played. Instead, they continue to reside in the data streams, occupying a space somewhere between transience and permanence.

With its focus on lingering effects and persistent signals, The Spaces Between expands the Lunar Cycle’s exploration of the moon’s distinctive environment while reconsidering how played cards can continue to matter. Android: Netrunner players can use this 60-card set to revisit the boundary between temporary processes and lasting influence.
