Concordia Venus: Balearica / Italia

Concordia Venus: Balearica / Italia is a 2019 board game for 2–5 players, with games taking about 120 minutes. Its Balearica map presents four islands: Maiorica (Mallorca), Minorica (Menorca), Ebusus (Ibiza), and Frumentaria (Formentera).

Each player begins with two ships already at sea, and there is no capital city to start from. Land colonists are built only later in the game, although they can switch their position between the islands.

Balearica introduces a fishmarket and a new commodity: fish. Fish replaces the ordinary bonus units usually collected when playing the Prefect. In provinces that failed to produce during the previous round, the bonus is doubled, up to two fish.

• Begin with two ships at sea.
• Build land colonists later and move them between islands.
• Collect fish when provinces fail to produce.
• Sell fish for goods, cash, or special actions.

The fishmarket adds another layer of planning ahead, giving experienced Concordia players new challenges. It can be combined with the Balearica map, or used as a variant with the base game or any other Concordia map.

For additional map variety, the opposite side of the board features the Italia map, included for players who missed it when buying Concordia Venus. Together, the Balearica rules, fishmarket, and Italia map offer distinct ways to revisit Concordia Venus.
