Descent: Journeys in the Dark (Second Edition) – Labyrinth of Ruin is a campaign-focused fantasy adventure expansion for 2–5 players, with an approximately 180-minute play time. It sends heroes into a previously unexplored region of Terrinoth, where they must navigate the broken remains of a forgotten city.

Labyrinth of Ruin includes nineteen narratively rich quests. Each adventure can be enjoyed on its own, while campaign play connects them into a larger story about an enigmatic sorceress and her vile plot to bring darkness to the world. Heroes will also enlist the aid of unique allies during their mission.

The campaign uses a clever plot system that reacts to the players’ successes and failures. As quests are completed, either the heroes or the overlord can grow in power, shaping the journey toward a gripping finale and giving the campaign a strong sense of progression and consequence.

This expansion adds new options for both sides of the conflict. The overlord receives an alternative deck to the core game’s fifteen basic Overlord cards, while cunning new monsters strengthen the forces of evil. Hero players gain four brave new characters and four versatile classes: Beastmaster, Treasure Hunter, Hexer, and Apothecary.
