About this board game

Formaggio is a simultaneous worker-placement game for 1–4 players, with games lasting about 45 minutes. Set in early 20th-century Italy, it casts players as cheesemakers striving to build the most prestigious creamery in the country.

Place Workers to make cheese and gather resources from the board quadrant facing you. Once everyone has placed their Workers, the board rotates, aging any cheese that was made and revealing a new quadrant for the next round. This changing view creates a puzzle of timing, placement, and resource management.

Earn Prestige Points by selling cheese to four different locations and by efficiently managing and upgrading your creamery. Formaggio also introduces Platinum-tier cheeses, seasonal rewards, and new abilities on the Player Boards and Structure tiles.

• Vigneto: Pair your cheese with wines.
• Venetian canals: Sell cheese to restaurants and attract customers.
• Regioni of Italy: Distribute cheese across the regions.
• Banca: Deposit cheese in a bank that accepts it as collateral for loans.

Formaggio is a standalone expansion for Fromage. When both games are combined, players can use any four board quadrants and draft any combination of Structure tiles, creating more variety and additional paths to victory.
