About this board game

Galaxy Defenders is a cooperative sci-fi tactical battle wargame for 1–5 players, with sessions lasting about 120 minutes. Players command elite agents using custom ten-sided dice as they fight together against an advancing alien menace.

Choose from five distinct agents, each built for a different role on the battlefield. The Marine handles multiple enemies, the Biotech heals wounds and controls war drones, the Infiltrator excels at stealth and close combat, the Sniper delivers powerful long-range fire, and the resilient Hulk combines high firepower with exceptional resistance to damage.

• Card-driven alien AI: Alien cards define each species’ skills, behavior, and combat abilities.
• Uncertain activations: Close Encounter cards determine which aliens activate at the start of their turns.
• Dynamic difficulty: The system adjusts to the number of agents in play and recalibrates if agents are defeated.
• Campaign progression: Agents gain experience, skills, tactics, devices, improved weapons, and alien technology.

Each player completes an Agent turn followed by an Aliens turn, with players proceeding clockwise before the Event phase begins the next round. Because there is no dedicated alien player, the game system controls the invasion, combining species-specific behavior with unpredictable activation to create a challenging simulation of battle.

The story-driven campaign spans twelve missions. Multiple endings in each mission can change the direction of later games, while agent experience carries the consequences of the fight forward.

With the downloadable Alien Mind variant, one player can become the alien mastermind and control the alien army and cards in play. This competitive option supports up to six players and can be used for a single mission or an entire campaign, though it is recommended for expert players.
