Imhotep: The Private Ships – Mini Expansion is a 2016 mini expansion for 2–4 players that adds one private ship token for each player.

During setup, each player takes the private ship token in their color. Once per game, a player may take 1 stone from their supply sled token, place it on their private ship, and immediately sail that ship to a site board. Placing the stone and sailing the private ship count as a single action.

Private ships create an additional way to send a stone where it is needed. A private ship may sail to a site board even when a normal ship is already there, giving players more flexibility when choosing where to deliver their stone.

• Each player receives a private ship token in their color.
• The private ship can be used once per game.
• Its single action includes taking 1 stone from the supply sled, placing it on the ship, and sailing to a site board.
• Only 1 normal ship and 1 private ship may sail to the same site board in a round.

A normal ship may still sail to a site board even if a private ship went there first. At the end of the round, used private ship tokens are returned to the game box, so this special transport option is limited to a single use.

The expansion also adds a special rule for the market board. If a private ship sails there before a normal boat, the now-empty card space is immediately replenished with a new market card from the draw pile. This timing opportunity makes the private ship useful not only for delivery, but also for influencing the market.
