About this expansion

Steampunk Rally: Red Green is a promotional character for 2–8 players, with a play time of 60 minutes. Released in 2018, Red Green offers a distinctive alternative to the standard character setup.

Instead of the usual two cards—a cockpit and a machine—Red Green uses one 2×1 card depicting a van and trailer device. This single card defines the character’s unusual approach to assembling parts.

Red Green’s ability allows you to attach parts even when they do not have proper valve connections. To do so, spend a cog and mark the connected parts as duct taped together. Once parts have been taped together, they may not be separated while they remain connected.

  • Attach parts without proper valve connections by spending a cog.
  • Mark those parts as duct taped together.
  • Do not separate taped parts unless a taped part is destroyed.
  • When a taped part is destroyed, separate it, regain the cog, and gain one die of the type shown in the card’s corner.

The ability also creates a useful interaction with destruction. If a taped part is destroyed, the connection comes apart, the cog spent to make it is recovered, and one die of the type indicated in the card’s corner is gained.

Dice regained during the Damage Phase are kept for the next round. With its van-and-trailer card and unconventional connection ability, Red Green adds a focused promotional option to Steampunk Rally for players who want to build around duct-taped parts.
