About this expansion

Teotihuacan: Expansion Period is a modular expansion for Teotihuacan: City of Gods for 1–4 players, with games lasting about 120 minutes. It expands the city’s influence beyond its old borders and adds new ways to develop your empire.

At the heart of the expansion is obsidian, a powerful wild resource. It can support special actions in other modules and enable faster gameplay through the new resource collection action boards.

The Mansion action board replaces the Palace board, offering new options for climbing temples and powering up workers. Meanwhile, the Altars and Shamans module fills the previously empty spaces between Action Boards with dedicated Altars. Shamans move counter-clockwise and perform their own powerful actions, adding a new dimension to the city’s development.

With Expanding the Empire, a new Empire board creates further opportunities while integrating with the base game. The compatible Conquest board lets players use warriors to reach new lands, then transform them into settlers who advance along the Avenue of the Dead.

• Advanced Teotibot: new functionality makes the solo opponent compatible with all the expansion’s new content.
• Major Discoveries: more powerful than regular Discovery tiles, but harder to obtain.
• New components: special mask tiles, additional Priests and Priestesses, a Season tile, Technology tiles, Starting tiles, and Royal tiles.

Designed as a modular addition, Teotihuacan: Expansion Period lets players enrich their experience with selected new systems or combine its features for a broader game of resources, exploration, development, and empire building.
